Life of Hazrat Umar bin khattab

Second Caliph Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him)


 The second caliph, Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA) is the great personality of Islam whose enlightened services to Islam, his courage and bravery, his decisions based on justice and fairness, and his many victories made Islam famous.


 Omar bin Khattab (RA) is a name in Islamic history which is considered not only by his own people but also by strangers.

 

Introduction :



He was born in 583 AH in Mecca.  His name is Umar bin Khattab , his surname is Farooq and his surname is Abu Hafs , And the lineage of him (RA) is traced back to The Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the ninth generation.  Umar ibn al-Khattab is one of the ten evangelists. Before him, forty men and eleven women were enlightened by the light of Islam.  Your father's name was Al-Khattab bin Nafil bin Abdul-Aziz, and your mother's name was Hantamah bint Hisham bin Al-Mugheerah.

He was 27 years old when the Holy Prophet called the Quraysh of Makkah to the religion of truth and this passionate young man became an opponent of Islam.  He said, "I will kill you a little less expensive now, however this viciousness of yours couldn't eliminate the radiance of Islam from the core of that slave young lady .  When Umar left the house with this intention, he met Naeem bin Abdullah on the way who had converted to Islam.  He immediately said, "First go to your house, then find out that your sister and your brother-in-law have become Muslims."  When he came to rescue his sister, the news of his death came to his senses and he said, "Omar, do whatever you want.  This unwavering intention of the sister forced the brother to think and finally said, "Show me what you were reading."


The sister showed the pages of the Holy Qur'an. Eloquent and eloquent speech did it.

Translate : " All that is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Allah, and He is the Mighty, the Wise " .

This verse came down to your heart and when your sister recited " Believe in Allah and His Messenger " then he cried out for help.

Hazrat Omar narrated that the Holy Prophot , may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said :

O Allah, honor Islam from Abu Jahl bin Hisham or Umar bin Khattab from the two men who are beloved to you and from you both Umar bin Khattab was beloved. By your prayer Omar accepted Islam so  Also called Murad Rasool.


Khilafah Hazrat Omar :

 People used to admire your insight and foresight but they were afraid of you because of your toughness of temperament.  Upon this , Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique said : " When the burden of Khilafah falls on you, you will soften " . Therefore, all the Companions liked this choice and after the death of Hazrat Abu Bakr he rose to the position of 13. His reign is from 13 AH to 23 AH.

He is the founder of the Hijri calendar. During his caliphate, Iraq, Libya, Egypt, mainland Syria, Iran, Khorasan, Eastern Anatolia, Southern Armenia and Sijistan were conquered and became part of the Islamic State.  And its area spread over 225,033 (22,51033) square miles.  For the first time during the caliphate of Umar ibn Khattab, Proshlam was conquered, and the entire territory of the Sassanid Empire, and about a third of the Byzantine Empire came under the control of the Islamic State.


Khazrat Omar's speech after being nominated as caliph : 

He ascended the pulpit and praised Allah and then said: O people!  May you say Amen.  O Allah ! , I am hard, make me soft for your obedient ones, for those who embrace the truth for your pleasure and for the attainment of the Hereafter, and make me hard for your enemies, transgressors and hypocrites.  I will not oppress them and I will not abuse them, O Allah If I am stingy, make me generous for good deeds, grant me moderation, I will not spend in vain and I will not spend much, I will not show off and show off, make me seek your pleasure and the hereafter.  O Allah !  Make me a soft corner for the believers .  O Allah !  Make me a soft corner for the believers.  O Allah !  Impress me with your remembrance in every situation and help me to remember death in every moment .


Wives and children of Hazrat Omar : 


Bint Abi Umayyah, Umm Kulthum Malika bint Jarul, Zainab bint Mazoon, Jamila bint Thabit, Aateka bint Zaid, Umm Hakim bint Al-Harith, Umm Kulthum bint Ali bin Abi Talib .

He first married Zainab bint Mazoon bin Habib in the time of Jahiliyyah. From her womb were born Abdul Rahman and Hafsa.  Zainab believed in Mecca and she died. She was the sister of Uthman bin Mazoon.  The second marriage took place in the time of Jahiliyyah to Malika bint Jarul. Abdullah was born from her womb and divorced her in 5 AH.  He got married for the third time to Qaribah bint Abi Umayyah and according to Maulana Zainul Abidin he got married to Umm Hakim bint Al Harith and also divorced her.  The fourth marriage was with Jamila bint Thabit from whose womb Asim was born, the fifth marriage was with Umm Kulthum bint Ali for forty thousand mahr and from her womb were born Zaid and Ruqiya, and the sixth marriage was with Bari Abi Umayyah.


The descendants of Hazrat Omar were: Zaid Asghar, Zaid Akbar, Asim, Abdullah, Abdul Rahman Akbar, Abdul Rahman Asghar, Abdul Rahman Osat, Obaidullah Ayaz, Hafsa, Ruqiya, Zainab, Fatima .

Death : 

During the Fajr Imamate of Hazrat Umar Farooq (Dhu'l-Hijjah 3 AH), a Magus named Abu Lulu Feroze injured Hazrat Umar (RA) with a dagger, three days after which he was martyred on the 1st of Muharram, 4 AH.  He is buried in the blessed side of the holy shrine of the Holy Prophet (sws) .
